Thanks to record-breaking generosity at the 2024 Jewel of the Stillwater, Stillwater Billings Clinic now has a brand new X-ray suite.
Up and running for approximately three months now, the $160,000 suite is housed in a single room and comprised of a wall x-ray, bed/overhead x-ray, control panel and all the necessary technical implements necessary to run the equipment, send images out electronically to be read by a radiologist.
The different modules are vital in allowing technologists to get images while keeping the patient as comfortable as possible. For example, the wall unit is helpful for patients who need a chest X-ray. In addition to patient comfort, new equipment will also make for less burdensome work for radiology technologists through dramatically lighter imaging detectors.
The X- ray suite is used an average of seven times a day at Stillwater Billings Clinic. The previous X-ray suite simply wore out after approximately 17 years of use.
Being able to make this sizeable purchase within months of the Jewel of the Stillwater event last May was possible due to the $72,000 cleared from May’s Jewel of the Stillwater event.
“The generosity of this community is absolutely outstanding. Health care services in Stillwater County continue to expand and improve thanks to your contributions. We are truly blessed to have so much support,” said Stillwater Billings Clinic CEO Luke Kobold.
That total eclipsed the previous record raised of $49,000 in 2018. From 2014 to 2022, the average amount generated at the event was $36,613.
